Shrnutí:As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ecuador in the year 2022 had a decrease in the happiness index of 5.53 points, causing deteriorations mainly in the social and economic spheres. Therefore, this study focuses on evaluating the relationship between Social Capital and Subjective Well-being for the post-COVID-19 period in Ecuador, through econometric techniques, in order to propose public policy implications focused on the subjective well-being of individuals. For its realization, the database of the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU) of the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) was used for the year 2022, and statistical and econometric techniques such as the ordered probit model and quantile regression were used. The main results show that several of the dimensions of social capital have a positive influence on the subjective wellbeing of heads of household; however, trust in people has a negative influence. Consequently, it is necessary that policy makers and policy makers focus on the implementation of recreational, educational, and support centers or spaces to reinforce the social capital of heads of households, in order to increase their subjective wellbeing.
