Resumo:Oral language begins to gain prominence at a very early age, being the main means of communication to help structure the language of each child, for which it is of vital importance that there is prior stimulation for the child to practice speaking since this It will serve for further learning and development. That is why the objective of this research was to determine how children's literature improves oral language in children of the initial level II of the Alonso de Mercadillo School of Basic Education in the city of Loja in the period 2021 - 2022. The design used was quasi-experimental because a moderate intervention was carried out in the independent variable, the methods used were the analytical-synthetic, which allowed to analyze and synthesize the most important information of the theoretical framework, and the inductive-deductive, helped to meet the objectives proposals, to build knowledge and establish recommendations and conclusions; The instrument applied was the revised PLON-R Navarra test, applied to a sample of 20 children from the initial level II, resulting in the pretest that 15% of the children were at a normal level and in the posttest they passed. 80% at this level after the application of the activity guide through children's literature, evidencing an improvement of 65% in the oral language of children. Concluding that children's literature provides different resources for the child to develop the linguistic area through active participation developing skills such as: pronunciation, articulation of phonemes, ordering sentences, vocabulary, comprehension and expression of language.
