The Piscobamba River rises in the foothills of Sabanilla and during travel receives the waters of several rivers and streams to pass through this sector. The Quinara parish, known worldwide based on the legend of the Treasury Quinara and according to historian Pío Jaramillo Alvarado in his book History of Loja Province and relates the existence of seven guandos gold buried in this city based on a ceremonial after the death of Atahualpa and that based on these versions, several investigations and excavations were carried out to find the coveted treasure. This place would have taken the name Quinara because Indian camp and formed a chief called himself Quinag. Average rural tourism, rural tourism, endogenous development, territorial approach as proposed development, which allowed frame the project: For the research, a review of the concepts was developed. Potential, attractive, organizational activities, productive activities, travel services, tourist attractions, tourism skills and infrastructure services in the parish Quinara was investigated. Likewise, the contribution of rural tourism was determined in changing the state of development of the inhabitants of the parish Quinara, under the approach of "sustainable human development " . In addition, information was obtained natural characterizations for the socialization of the project, analyze and determine the daily activities that form part of the proposals or rural tourism. With these results, three types of tenders in accordance with the reality of the parish was established, the best option was selected, together with the workshop participants. Being this offer the "Developed by organizational groups, in the form of community (association)." Once the perfect proposal for rural community tourism and subsequent workshops, it was considered important that prior to the implementation and development of the proposal, it was necessary to take into account seven significant points, within four areas: food , lodging, tourist service and productive alternatives , this in order to establish more accurately offers the community and identify gaps. . With the applied surveys and participatory workshops, conflict, caused by the lack of interest in establishing actions that benefit the whole parish were detected, in addition, the lack of communication between different groups of local stakeholders interested in or affected by the activity Desk. For this reason solutions sought consensus and commitments are established to obtain the desired contribute to "sustainable human development" results. It was important to show the experiences of relevant community-based tourism projects, from other countries, such as Costa Rica, since this is one of the countries with the largest programs in community tourism in Central America. They modeled these initiatives and socialized with participants, which the inhabitants have managed these projects, with the aim of creating awareness is essential teamwork. The objectives that guided this research were: - Identify cultural potentialities existing productive in the parish, which could be exploited by the Rural Community Tourism. - Develop an alternative proposal Rural Community Tourism, for Quinara parish.

Fue fundada en mayo de 1994, la plaza central es el parque, cerca del mismo queda la iglesia. El río Piscobamba, nace en las estribaciones de la cordillera de Sabanilla y durante su recorrido recibe las aguas de varios ríos y quebradas hasta pasar por este sector. La parroquia Quinara, conocida a nivel mundial en base a la leyenda del Tesoro de Quinara y que de acuerdo al historiador Pío Jaramillo Alvarado en su libro Historia de Loja y su Provincia, relata la existencia de los siete guandos de oro, enterrados en esta población en base a un ceremonial luego de la muerte de Atahualpa y que en base a estas versiones, se realizaron varias investigaciones y excavaciones para encontrar el codiciado tesoro. Este lugar habría tomado el nombre de Quinara, porque formaron un campamento indio y el jefe del mismo se llamaba Quiñág. Para la investigación, se elaboró una revisión de los conceptos: medio rural, turismo, turismo rural, desarrollo endógeno, enfoque territorial como propuesta de desarrollo, que permitió enmarcar el proyecto. Se investigó las potencialidades, atractivos, actividades organizacionales, actividades productivas, servicios turísticos, atractivos turísticos, destrezas turísticas e infraestructura de servicios en la parroquia Quinara. Así mismo, se determinó el aporte del turismo rural comunitario en el cambio del estado de desarrollo de los habitantes de la parroquia Quinara, bajo el enfoque de “desarrollo humano sostenible”. Además de ello, se obtuvo información de las caracterizaciones naturales, para con la socialización del proyecto, analizar y determinar las actividades cotidianas que formarían parte de la o las propuestas de turismo rural comunitario. Con estos resultados se establecieron tres tipos de ofertas y en concordancia con la realidad de la parroquia; se seleccionó la mejor opción, de manera conjunta con los participantes en los talleres. Siendo esta oferta la “Desarrollada por grupos organizativos, bajo la modalidad de comunidad (asociatividad).” Una vez establecida la propuesta ideal de turismo rural comunitario y en los talleres posteriores; se consideró que era importante, que previo a la implementación y desarrollo de la propuesta, era necesario tomar en cuenta siete puntos significativos; dentro de cuatro áreas: gastronomía, hospedaje, servicio turístico y alternativas productivas, esto con el fin de establecer con mayor exactitud las ofertas de la comunidad y detectar las carencias. Con las encuestas aplicadas y los talleres participativos, se detectaron conflictos, originados por la falta de interés en establecer acciones que beneficie a toda la parroquia; además de ello, la falta de comunicación entre los diferentes grupos de actores locales interesados o afectados por la actividad turística. Por tal razón se buscó en consenso soluciones y se estableció compromisos comunes, para obtener los resultados deseados que contribuyeran al “desarrollo humano sostenible”. Fue importante mostrar las experiencias de proyectos relevantes de turismo rural comunitario, de otros países; como Costa Rica, puesto que este es uno de los países con mayores programas en turismo comunitario en Centro América. Se tomó como modelo estas iniciativas y se socializó con los participantes, lo que han logrado los habitantes con estos proyectos, con la finalidad de crear conciencia que es indispensable el trabajo en equipo.
