Riassunto:To carry out interventions in the modifiable risk factors for arterial hypertension is fundamental since it allows reducing the cases of hypertension achieving improvement in the living conditions of those who suffer it, hypertension has become a serious public health problem due to the difficulty of diagnosing and treating it promptly. The objective was to analyze the modifiable risk factors associated with arterial hypertension in patients of the Olmedo Type A Health Center, to strengthen the prevention of arterial hypertension, the methodology developed was of descriptive type with a quantitative scope and cross-sectional, it was worked in a sample of 45 adult patients of 20 - 64 years old with HTA who have accepted informed consent. For data collection, it was used the questionnaire "Progressive method of surveillance of risk factors for chronic noncommunicable diseases" (STEPS) and the "questionnaire to quantify salt consumption", after the analysis it was evidenced a predominance of the female sex, who has a primary education and belong to the rural area, from this population, 68.9% presented hypertension grade 1. The FMR related to HTA that were found are the consumption of tobacco with a p-value of ,049 and an unhealthy diet with a p-value of ,044 by the chi2 test, although there was no evidence of a relationship between HTA and high salt consumption, alcohol intake and sedentary lifestyle, which represent significant risk factors to acquire it. This is why a proposal was drawn up to raise patients' awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to reduce future complications
