The overall objective was: To determine how this affects the use of the Internet and / or computer in academic performance in the subject of Language Arts students in sixth and seventh grade of Basic Education School Ambato city in Cariamanga school year 2015 – 2016 The methods that were used in developing the investigative process were: Scientific, analytical and synthetic. Statistical model: the techniques used were two surveys, one directed to teachers and other students in sixth and seventh year in order to detect the incidence of Internet use in academic performance. Application of the survey to students it is concluded that: most students know the use of technological tools, which provides support for intellectual development, so that should instill the proper use of resources They are around, plus it was determined that there is a great need to incorporate in planning the use of new technologies, which will allow the student to generate new learning based on curiosity they feel. In applying the survey to teachers it was determined that most teachers do not have a good handle technological tools, so it is necessary to acquire this knowledge through the use of training that can be virtual or.
