| description | The present dissertation work was done in order to know the measure of Bullying, school bullying or violence between equals. Bullying is a phenomenon that is present in schoolchildren, and currently represents a risk for the integral development of children, leading them to future problems related to their psychological development. This research results from a quantitative study with a descriptive and transversal approach, in which information has been collected from 392 schoolchildren from the third year to the seventh year of basic general education who study in the Educational Unit Marieta de Veintimilla of Loja city. The results obtained after analyzing the surveys indicate that the phenomenon of Bullying exists in the school children of the educational unit, which in turn reflects the presence of violence among them, this being a risk factor for their normal psychosocial development. In addition, making a comparison with the studies conducted in other countries such as Colombia and Brazil, it was observed that children were victims of harassment by their peers, at least once throughout the course of their studies within their school or high school. Keywords: Bullying, schoolchildren, violence, violence among peers.Se considera Bullying a las agresiones físicas, verbales, amenazas o de exclusión que sufre una persona violentada habitualmente por otra con diferencias físicas, marcadas de tamaño y fuerza, con el fin de dañar, denigrar, ridiculizar o burlar a la víctima, provocando problemas a futuro de autoestimas y síntomas de depresión. El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivos determinar la presencia de Bullying en los escolares, señalar el tipo de violencia, identificar la frecuencia y describir los sitios donde ocurren las agresiones. Esta investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal, en el que se ha recogido información de 392 escolares del tercer al séptimo año de Educación Básica de la Unidad Educativa Marieta de Veintimilla de la ciudad de Loja; obteniéndose como resultados que el fenómeno del Bullying si existe, siendo la violencia verbal la más habitual como los insultos 49%, sobrenombres 36% y gritos 36%; así también se describen amenazas y exclusión social como las amenazas de agresión 25%, impedir que jueguen con él o ella 37%; de igual manera se encuentra la violencia física directa como pellizcos 34% y patadas 32%, y violencia física indirecta como robo de cosas personales 49% y esconder las cosas 48%; en cuanto a la frecuencia con la que ocurren las agresiones manifestaron mayoritariamente a Rara vez 39,28% y 1-2 veces por semanas 29,08%; con respecto al lugar donde ocurren las agresiones toman relevancia el patio y las clases de educación física cuando no vigila algún profesor.
