Résumé:Work autonomy is a goal that nurses have constantly worked to achieve however, despite the progress it has had, not yet fully achieved totally, Lack of autonomy can produce certain problems, as job dissatisfaction work by feeling incapable of acting on its own, Communication problems and discomfort in work performance with the health team. The objective of this research was to determine the level of labor autonomy of the nursing professionals of the Hospital General "Isidro Ayora" of Loja. A descriptive study was carried out, which describes the level of work autonomy of nursing professionals, and the variables were measured only once during the development of the research. The study group corresponds to 120 nursing professionals; the results obtained were: 60.6% have a High Autonomy Level and 3.3% have a Low Level, identifying an advance of nursing towards the autonomy of work; in responsibility, 87.9% have High Level; in independence 62.8% have High Level and in decision power 51.3% have Medium Level. In conclusion, nursing professionals have a lower level in power of decision, which prevents them from making their own decisions in the performance of independent or autonomous activities, in order to raise the level of nursing work autonomy.
