Shrnutí:In this degree project, we evidence the qualities that low power networks contribute to gathering data from the sensors called end nodes. We used the LoRaWAN and Sigfox protocols for the comparison, belonging to the LPWAN networks, analyzing parameters such as the quality of the link obtained from Radio Mobile, in addition to variables related to the number of packets transmitted, obtained with the Omnet++ software with the help of some libraries such as Inet 4.3 and FloRa from InetManet. We performed a very detailed investigation of the protocols mentioned in the previous paragraph, managing to find and discern the different characteristics of LoRaWAN, which included the internal operation with the FloRa library already implemented in the Omnet++ simulator. Having as support several projects with deployments in the country, succeeding in obtaining many relevant references that contributed to the constitution of a solid project. On the other hand, the participation of Sigfox was more complex since the information is scarce; moreover, at present, it only operates in certain provinces of Ecuador. We recognized that it is a private corporation responsible for all the wireless access and data visualization, where only the subscribers have to purchase the nodes (if available) or modules to develop them from scratch and contract a monthly membership to use the infrastructure. Concerning the wireless links from each node to the corresponding Gateway, in addition to the Radio Mobile simulation, we verified in person the points of each simulated node, and we also used Google Maps and Google Earth, with the verification of the distance of each link, the corresponding power, and frequencies, showing the worst Fresnel that we obtained with each link. Similarly, by processing data from the internal processing of the protocols in Omnet++, it was possible to show parameters such as DER, necessary to verify the protocol that offers better results for the number of simulated nodes. On the other hand, the battery consumption was another factor obtained by the program in which it is evident which protocol simplifies the power consumption in each node, concluding with the protocol that best suits the needs ott1ie university environment.
