Zusammenfassung:This document contains the summary of the investigation " Intervention Project for strengthening volunteer participation in Canton Gonzanamá " held in the framework of the Master of Community Development at the National University of Loja. The research involved volunteers, leaders and families in ten communities of Gonzanamá. Research that was developed from the perspective offered by the Community Self-Development , the same as through field work, community meetings and volunteering, was determined with critical consciousness the little understanding of what participation is, inadequate preparation of volunteers, low educational level , lack of tools to deal with a demanding public ignorance of their role, and their own paradigms established by their ancient culture has made the community work processes remain floating recognizing that, as part of the problem for effective participation as a leader. Through the use of surveys, interviews with the community, local authorities, teachers, pronouncements by various authors about the volunteer, their work, functions and participation confirm the failures and weaknesses in this sector as confirmed also by the researcher. The methodology used is reviewed and determines which actions you should take to strengthen and empower the community involvement and volunteerism, invisible and not taken as a part of it. With this background and the empirical results given by the group work and the theoretical framework given by the facilitator of the process, show us the areas that need to be targeted for intervention to strengthen the volunteers are determined in Gonzanamá. It should be noted that of the five stages that are part of the Community Self-Development, this research worked until the third stage, structuring a training proposal that would strengthen and enhance the capabilities of the group of volunteers. The results obtained in the different phases of the investigation allowed to know the perception of the volunteers (women and men) on their general characteristics, problems requiring solution and prioritized scenarios most affected individuals regarding their participation; second hypothetical formulation allowed the system underlying contradictions of the problem raised by the voluntary participation and thirdly, they agree on the initial plan for professional action. Concluding that volunteering has a need to be strengthened through training with a focus on community self development. Conclusions and recommendations that will be useful for future community managers, wishing to work in intervention processes to use the training as a way of strengthening tool.
