| Summary: | This research is based on the development of an application oriented to select electrical conductors according to the electrical demand, for residential and industrial facilities with a power limit of 263 kW, the methodology used is to identify and determine the process to size them based on the electrical load, the information was collected from the conductors that meet the established power limit, for the development of the application. For the implementation of this tool, it starts with the selection of information concerning the different processes used for the sizing of electrical conductors. From academic books, articles, and other scientific documents that deal with the subject, this was one of the available sources of information for the application, in the same way a database of the most used electrical conductors was elaborated, especially those that adjust to the predefined maximum power, such as: calibers, sections and current capacities for electrical conductors, aluminum and copper, this information was compiled from the ELECTROCABLES C.A. To develop the programming of the application, a flowchart was developed, based on the equations used according to the conventional method for the calculation of conductors, this was translated into lines of code embodied in the programming platform, and generated in the Matlab® GUIDE, its validation was performed by comparing the results with examples of manual calculation. In the tool, when entering the data, the results window is generated with the main parameters, the calculated section, gauge, conductor type, current, to size and select electrical conductors according to the case and type of installation required.
