| Резюме: | The Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the principal chronic complications of the Mellitus diabetes, which generates most disability and mortality, especially in adult and seniors, not only made great economic burden in all countries, but also from the point of view of family relationship, when converting a person in charge; therefore the present work entitled: “Prevalence Retinopathies in patients with Mellitus Diabetes type 2". The principal objective is determine the prevalence of retinopathy in type 2 diabetic patients, as well as establish the Retinopathy type most common, diabetic retinopathy distribution in relation to the time of evolution, quantify age, sex and glucemia diagnosis of retinopathy and determine the factors that predispose to blindness. This investigation is analytical, descriptive and transverse; it was realized in the clinical service of Isidro Ayora Regional Hospital, in the period of January to July 2015, the study population consisted of all patients submitted to ocular fundus examination, the sample was 57 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria; Data collection was carried out through review of medical records. Data were get into a database of Microsoft Excel and analyzed by simple and inferential statistics. The prevalence of retinopathy was 80.7%, with an average of 11-20 years of evolution of their disease, such percentage of 64.91% for diabetic retinopathy no proliferative and 15.79% for proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
