Čoahkkáigeassu:In this research was intended to determine the factors triggering risk of high blood pressure during pregnancy and as a result produces premature labor; By setting the frequency of preterm birth, gestational age, prenatal care and pregnancy termination in patients hospitalized in the area of gynecology and obstetrics of Isidro Ayora Hospital, is a quantitative study: Prospective-descriptive, formed with a sample of 60 patients with preterm labor because of hypertension, of which the 70% was mild preeclampsia and 5% for pregnancy-induced hypertension, 50% was associated with genitourinary tract infections, 33 % are aged over 30 years, 22% at ages between 20-30 and 7% teen mothers. The 50% had primary education and only the 12% had higher education, the 77% were housewife. Only 30 % presented previous history of gestational hypertension, 53% of the patients were multiparous of which 44% had more than 5 years intergenesic period and 37% of them were conception of another commitment. In terms of prenatal care 67 % had at least 5 controls; so all of the above are considered risk factors for developing hypertension in pregnancy and finally the 80% of pregnancies ended in cesarean prevail with 45% the gestational age of 36 weeks.
