Тойм: | In the world of lung cancer and deaths related to it they have increased to epidemic proportions, especially in Asian countries like, in close correlation with sustained and significant growth of smoking. The global estimate of annual deaths from lung cancer is about one million people. Faced with this public health problem this study aims to determine the cytotoxic effect of chloroform extract from the leaves of Annona cherimola in a cell line of lung cancer in a culture medium with neutral pH using a model of experimental study - Prospective , the same as it did in the city of Loja, in the laboratories of the Biotechnology Center of the National University of Loja established using statistical techniques to determine cell viability and proliferation methods and the preparation of the culture medium was carried Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI) complete with neutral pH used in cell culture and tissue culture, similarly chloroform extract preparation was performed in varying concentrations to evaluate their effect (concentrate, 1:10 and 1:50), obtaining results as follows: the concentrated extract showed higher cytotoxicity of 70.9% of A549 cells unlike extracts diluted 1:10 and 1:50 that showed less cytotoxic effect of 61.5% and 36.3% respectively. Keywords: Annona cherimola, viability, proliferation, cytotoxicity, A549 cells, pH, abstract, smoking, RPMI. |
