Čoahkkáigeassu:Logical-mathematical thinking plays an important role in teaching children from an early age, as it allows them to understand the world around them through the comparison of elements of various characteristics, color recognition, comparison of notions, and association of numbers; if this skill is not adequately developed, the progress of critical thinking, which is essential for problem-solving in both the school and professional environment, is hindered. That is why, the research aimed to analyze how board games strengthen the development of logical-mathematical thinking in children aged 4 to 5 years at the Miguel Riofrío Primary School in Loja city, during the 2023 – 2024 academic period. The study was developed within a non-experimental design with a descriptive scope and a mixed approach, likewise, the analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive method was used throughout the research. For data collection, the observation technique and the Early Mathematics Assessment Test (TEMT) was used as an instrument for twenty-one children, obtaining that 7% were at a high level, 19% moderate, 74% low and very low, denoting problems in all mathematical components since they had difficulty distinguishing sizes, grouping elements, comparing according to their characteristics, counting in sequence and recognizing geometric figures, that is why a proposal called "Exploring mathematics with curious children" was developed based on board games since it is a versatile and entertaining tool that promotes social interaction, the development of cognitive skills and therefore contributes to the integral development of children.
