The study was descriptive, observational and cross-sectional; the instrument used to collect information was a survey and a breastfeeding observation sheet. The sample was conformed by 90 mothers in breastfeeding period with children of one year of age since September 2017 until May 2018. The results were emptied into simple and cross tables, with the support of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs; These show that among the breastfeeding techniques most used by mothers, 48.9% for the sitting position, and lying down with 46.7%. Due to extraction techniques 55.6% of surveyed mothers applied this technique, but the most common is manual with 30%. Among breast complications, 82.2% of the surveyed mothers presented complications such as a pain in the nipple, cracks with bleeding followed by hardening of the breasts, 13.4% have not experienced any complications during the breastfeeding process and 4.4% of mothers do not breastfeed their child. Key words: Breastfeeding techniques, Breastfeeding, Mammary complications, Manual breast milk extraction. .La OMS recomienda que la forma ideal de aportar a los niños pequeños los nutrientes que necesitan es la lactancia materna; sin embargo el dolor y las lesiones en el pezón son las principales complicaciones mamarias que se presentan durante las primeras semanas de maternidad. La presente investigación denominada “TÉCNICAS DE LA LACTANCIA MATERNA ASOCIADAS A COMPLICACIONES MAMARIAS EN USUARIAS DEL HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARIO DE MOTUPE”, la misma que tiene como objetivo determinar las técnicas de lactancia materna asociadas a complicaciones mamarias en las usuarias del Hospital Universitario de Motupe. El estudio fue de carácter descriptivo, observacional y de corte transversal; el instrumento utilizado para la recolección de información fue una encuesta y una ficha de observación del amamantamiento. La muestra lo conformó 90 madres en periodo de lactancia con hijos hasta de un año de edad en el periodo Septiembre 2017 – Mayo 2018, Los resultados se vaciaron en tablas simples y cruzadas, con apoyo de programas Microsoft Excel y Microsoft Word; estos muestran que entre las técnicas de amamantamiento más utilizada por las madres un 48.9% optaron por la posición sentada, seguida de acostada con el 46.7%. Mientras que en relación a las técnicas de extracción un 55.6% de encuestadas la realizaron, siendo más frecuente la extracción manual con el 30%. Entre las complicaciones mamarias el 82.2% de las encuestadas presentaron complicaciones como dolor en pezón, grietas con sangrado seguido de endurecimiento de pechos, el 13.4% no ha experimentado ninguna complicación durante el proceso de lactancia y 4.4% de madres no dan de lactar a su hijo/a.
