| Περίληψη: | Anaplasmosis and piroplasmosis are tick-borne diseases caused by the rickettsia Anaplasma marginale and the protozoan Babesia bigemina, respectively. Both diseases cause considerable economic losses in the livestock sector worldwide and are associated with the presence of marked anemia and fever in diseased animals (Olguín, 2017). The objective of this work was to evaluate blood parameters of hemogram and serum biochemistry with respect to the diagnosis of anaplasmosis and piroplasmosis in 241 bovine females from Tundayme, El Guismi, El Pangui and Pachicutza parishes, belonging to El Pangui canton, province of Zamora Chinchipe (Narváez Jima, 2020). Statistical analysis was performed using Wilcoxon and T-tests (according to the normality of the distribution of each parameter), considering p values less than or equal to 0.05 as statistically significant. A significant difference was obtained with respect to platelet and creatinine values between the groups of animals diagnosed positive and negative for anaplasmosis. While, in the case of piroplasmosis, no significant difference was found; therefore, it cannot be affirmed that the alteration of any of these parameters is related to the presence of the disease in this study.
