Description
Résumé:The present study focused on investigating the impact of role-playing on the development of social skills in children in Initial 2 of General Basic Education School "Rumiñahui" in Yantzaza during the academic year 2023-2024. It explored how role-playing activities influence the development of social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution in this specific age group. To theoretically underpin the study, a literature review focused on the key variables: role-playing and social skill development was conducted. The methodology employed was descriptive non-experimental, with a cross-sectional design, allowing for a detailed and contextual analysis of the results obtained. The total population of the institution was 1263 students and 53 teachers. The selected sample included 25 Initial 2 students and 1 teacher who participated in data collection through surveys and direct observation. The findings highlighted significant improvements in children's social skills following participation in structured role-playing activities. Areas for improvement were identified, particularly in cooperation and conflict resolution abilities. These findings underscore the importance of integrating role-playing as a pedagogical strategy for the comprehensive development of social skills in similar educational contexts.
