Shrnutí:The implementation of playful didactic strategies in the teaching and learning process is important; because it promotes in students the development of significant learning and higher thinking skills. The objective of this research was <<Optimize the construction of significant learning in students, through the application of playful didactic strategies, which allow them to develop their higher thinking skills, in the subject of Natural Sciences, in the ninth year of basic education, from the “Adolfo Valarezo” High school, academic year 2022-2023>>. The method used was inductive, it began with direct observation to identify the problem, through bibliographic research. The intervention proposal was elaborated and developed to solve the detected problem. It has a qualitative approach. Particularities were determined such as the constant application of strategies that promote memorization and mechanization, causing in students a poor development of higher thinking skills and a lack of interest in learning. According to the nature of the information, it is participatory action research. During the development of the intervention, the researcher and the research subjects were actively involved to solve the identified problem. According to the temporality, it corresponds to the transversal type; from diagnosis to discussion of the results is considered a relatively short period of time. The results obtained through evaluation and research instruments show that the implementation of playful didactic strategies such as: rigid phrase, find the pairs, given VAK, effervescence, among others, optimized the construction of significant learning in students and the improvement in their performance. academic. It is concluded that, with the application of playful didactic strategies, the teaching-learning process of the subject of Natural Sciences is improved, thus optimizing the construction of significant learning in students, while promoting the development of higher skills of thought in them.
