Samenvatting:This research has as main objective to determine the ethnic differentiation, the existence of domestic violence and its impact on the academic performance of students of the schools of San Antonio area of Guadalupe parish in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, and specific: Inquire the types of ethnic groups in the parish of Guadalupe in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, specify the types of domestic violence, identify how domestic violence affects school performance of children and finally propose a program to prevent violence psychoeducation domestic, strengthen family mental health and improve the academic performance of students attending schools in San Antonio. The study was performed using a quantitative and qualitative approach, which was addressed by the use of scientific and empirical methods and techniques and instruments such as observation, survey, interview with the study population as well as key people such as education authorities educational institutions, and community leaders, thus forming a random sample of 226 people belonging to the three ethnic groups in the sector: Shuar Saraguro and mestizo, the investigation found that exists in 62.5% of families domestic violence, while a 51.06 children do not want to study or continue attending school, 36.17% want to be all the time at home to protect their mothers and siblings under the violence of which they are victims, while 12.77% want to flee their homes. Faced with this problem a psychoeducational approach, in which individual, family and group psychoeducation coordinated contemplated with the Department of Mental Health District 19d01 Yacuambi-Zamora Health, Ministry of Public Health whose objective was focused on reducing domestic violence took place, improve academic performance and strengthen the mental health of students in schools Sector San Antonio.
