Achoimre:The present investigation was carried out in order to determinate the consumption of alcohol and drugs in workers of food processing companies in the private sector of the city of Loja. Since alcoholism and drug addiction constitute a problematic disease in public health, in the social and occupational field, in addition to presenting risks and damages associated with alcoholism and drug addiction. The damages that appear in the consumer vary with the degree of intensity of the addiction. The present research work is an epidemiological, descriptive and cross-sectional study, the instrument that was applied was a test validated by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), World Health Organization (WHO), and the Ministry of Health Public (MSP) that applied to workers for alcohol and drug consumption, ASSIST V3.0 test validated and approved to be applied in our environment, the sample was made up of 175 workers who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Noting that the consumption of alcohol and drugs in the study workers is moderate, being 73.71% for alcohol, followed by 70.29% tobacco, and the age they mostly consume is between 26 to 35 years and corresponds to men who are they stand out as workers. Most workers are in low consumption, and they do not qualify for any level of intervention, but they are alert to avoid falling into moderate consumption.
