Özet:The main objective of the present research project is focused on the analysis of the electrical system of the “MIF” workshop, and of each of the elements that compose it, in addition to the distribution circuits. The first part of this document groups all the basic concepts: magnitudes and electrical variables definition, alternating current definitions, materials and electrical switchgears specifications and calculation hypothesis of electrical systems, and the main characteristics that allow us to define the operating conditions of each machine, such as its Power, Rated Voltage, Intensity, average time of use in hours per day. In the second section, the electrical characteristics of the workshop are discussed in detail. A network analyzer is employed to evaluate the performance of the machineries used in the workshop, focusing on aspects such as intensity, voltage, and power factor. This evaluation provides us with the necessary information to adequately design the electrical system, adjusting it to the requirements of the installation. In its third section, it proceeds to realize the analysis of the validation of each of the components involved in the workshop functioning, such as machinery and electrical installations, allowing to determine that some of them do not have an adequate electrical design and sizing for their function, based on the corresponding calculations, a redesign proposal is presented for these components in order to allow a better electro-energetic performance. In conclusion, the electrical design is presented, which complies with the requirements demanded by the local electric company EERSSA and follows the Ecuadorian Construction Standard (NEC). Likewise, the corresponding budget is included accompanied by specific recommendations to achieve an optimal design.
