Summary:Alcohol consumption is a public health problem that generates repercussions on physical, mental and social health. The present investigation analyzes the relationship between resilience and alcohol consumption during the COVID-19 pandemic in a population of 54 high school students from Marieta de Veintimilla Educational high school, for the study the reagents used were: Wagnild and Young resilience scale and the AUDIT test. The methodology was non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional. Regarding to the results obtained, it was identified that the majority of the population presented low resilience and a low level of consumption. In addition, using Spearman's correlational statistical method, it was shown that there is no relationship between having greater resilience and consuming less alcohol. Therefore, the present investigation was able to contribute that resilience should not be considered as a determining variable for non-consumption, but as a protective factor for the early start of alcohol consumption or its subsequent abandonment
