| Sumari: | The main purpose of this investigative work is to study the use of social networks by Xavier Hervas along his participation as a presidential candidate in the General Elections of Ecuador in 2021. In the development of the research, it is explained the use of social networch such as Facebook and TikTok for the management of emerging platforms with new formats to communicate political actions and strategies. The theme of the investigation raises the question: What digital communication strategies did the presidential candidate Xavier Hervas use in his social networks to position himself as the fourth most voted candidate? The first data of the investigation contextualizes the situation of digital consumption in Ecuador, considering the effects of the health by Covid-19. Then topics such as: evolution of social networks, digital platforms, communication and politics are explained. Following a chronological order were studied: the communication strategies, speech of the political participant and the interaction generated on their social networks Facebook and TikTok during the 2021 elections. Once the analysis was completed, it showed the content with the greatest reception and the techniques to the success, especially with new platforms.
