| Tóm tắt: | This paper "PREVALENCE AND SOURCES OF STRESS IN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ACADEMIC CAREER AREA MEDICAL HUMAN HEALTH", investigates and makes a comprehensive study for understanding and explaining the prevalence and sources of academic stress; correlation with the subjective, psychological, emotional, health and psycho-educational needs in primary students studying Human Medicine at the University National of Loja, during the academic period March to July 2013. The characteristics of this research methodology adopted a cross; descriptive and analytical, quantitative procedures employing eight independently validated questionnaires, which allowed to infer and quantify various aspects of applied stress; a universe of study comprised of 964 students, and a representative sample of 287 students of different levels of study. In the population studied (176 women and 111 men), a prevalence of 88.20% of academic stress moderate type (intensity level III and IV) was determined; found an association between academic stress and female gender and the level of study completed in the race; general state of (mental) health is rated as good (26.1%); psychologically poor welfare (31.4%); and subjective level, female gender has an impaired perception (23.4%). Thus showing that students affected by academic stress, have poor health, and poor psychological wellbeing perceptions. The sources of stress such as "academic overload” "take a test"; experiences such as anxiety, anger, irritability, anxiety; psych educational and different needs as "educational and psychological care," "Career Guidance", "training techniques, study planning, learning strategies"; "Guidance and support healthy life styles" are considered very necessary for the population studied.
