Considering the importance of the topic, this research was proposed: to determine the influence between Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity and low academic performance in the children of the "Santa Juana de Arco La Salle" Educational Unit of Santa Juana of Cariamanga, as well as: Identify the frequency of children's academic performance according to age, to know the low academic performance with respect to gender, to determine the frequency of ADHD in the sample and describe the main learning problems they present.The study it was quantitative, descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional and prospective study that included a sample of 58 students from 5 to 12 years, whose parents and teachers applied the Conners test to catalog ADHD. The qualifications of the first chemistry of the children in order to know their academic performance were reviewed. The data obtained were processed in the Microsoft Excel program the same ones that allowed to identify in this investigation that the ADHD is one of the factors that was related to the low academic performance. Considerando la trascendencia del tema se planteó esta investigación: determinar la influencia del Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad y bajo rendimiento académico en los niños de la Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional “Santa Juana de Arco La Salle” de Cariamanga, así como: identificar la frecuencia de bajo rendimiento académico de los niños de acuerdo a la edad, conocer el bajo rendimiento académico respecto al género, determinar la frecuencia de TDAH en la muestra y describir los principales problemas de aprendizaje que presentan. El estudio fué cuantitativo, descriptivo, analítico, de corte transversal y prospectivo que integró una muestra de 58 estudiantes de 5 a 12 años de edad, en cuyos padres y maestros se aplicó el test de Conners para catalogar TDAH, a la par se revisaron las calificaciones del primer quimestre de los niños con la finalidad de conocer su rendimiento académico. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron en el programa Microsoft Excel los mismos que permitieron identificar en esta investigación que el TDAH es uno de los factores que se relacionó con el bajo rendimiento académico.
