| Yhteenveto: | The objective of this study was to evaluate protocols for the synchronization and re-synchronization of oestrus in Holstein Friesian crossbred cows, using intravaginal devices and estradiol benzoate. Thirty cows were used as experimental units. On day 0, they were divided into two groups which were synchronized with bovine intravaginal devices plus 2mg of estradiol benzoate. The devices were removed on day 8 and 500ug of D-Cloprostenol plus 200UI eGC were applied. On day 9, 24 hours after the withdrawal of the DIB devices, 1mg of BE was administered. On the tenth day, IATF proceeded. Additionally, the two groups of animals were re-synchronized. In treatment 1, DIB devices of second use were inserted 15 days post IATF (day 25), these devices were then removed on day 30, and IACD was performed. In T2, 13 days post IATF (day 23), the test subjects received 1mg of estradiol benzoate; the oestrus returns were IACD.The application of both synchronization and re-synchronization protocols stimulated signs of oestrus in 100% of cases. The experimental design used was completely random, with one synchronization protocol and two re-synchronization protocols. An analysis of the percentage variables was performed using the Chi-square test (x 2). The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) between treatment 1 and 2 regarding conception rate, T2 was higher than T1 with 100% conception, whereas T1 had a pregnancy rate of 75%, it is for this reason that the use of T2 for re-synchronization is recommended. |
