The research was conductedwithadolescent studentsofValdiviesoBernardoCollege andManuelCabreraLozanocityofLoja, is qualitative, analytical and interpretative, the method used isinductive anddeductivetechniquesused weretwo surveys, oneknowledgeaboutsexuality andotherfamily communications. The universeofstudyconsists of464studentswho were inthe 2ndand 3rd. High Schoolwhichwas sampled40% ofadolescents. As for the results, we have to have a regular adolescent knowledge about sexuality in 59.7%, good in 20.4% and poor in 19.9%. In relation to the onset of sexual life we have 65.6% have already begun their sexual life which most have done at the age of 14 to 17 years; while 34.4% have not started sexual life. Primary and secondary sources from which teens get information about sexuality were friends at 44.6%; health professionals at 34.9%; teachers at 15.1% and 5.4% parents. The type of communication with adolescents who have initiated sexual activity with parents is open to a 40.3% avoidant in 17.2% and attack by 8.1%, addition of 41.9% of adolescents with open communication have regular knowledge about sexuality, which has a 15.1% avoidant communication also have a regular knowledge and finally 5.9% with an offensive communication knowledge is low. That is why you can not tell whether the type influences or family communication about sex early start and the level of knowledge of adolescents about sexuality as they are subjective variables.
