| Summary: | This research analyzes the state of the systemic conditions within the entrepreneurship environment in Loja city which are the key to the development of new businesses, especially dynamic ones, as well as the key actors that provide support to entrepreneurs throughout the stages of this process entrepreneurs. The general objective of the study is to carry out a diagnosis and characterization of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Loja. The methodology is based on the analysis of five key dimensions proposed by Martinez and Goma these are: regulatory environment, support infrastructure, access to capital, human resources and culture. The sample consisted of 380 businesses from various economic economic sectors, 3 institutions of higher education and 5 superior technological institutes, to whom questionnaires were administered with open, closed questions and Likert-scale to determine the state of the ecosystem and the quality of the entrepreneurship programs of the educational institutions of entrepreneurship programs in the educational institutions. A mapping of the main stakeholders was also analyzed and the degree of involvement and support for entrepreneurship. The results show some weaknesses of the ecosystem such as the regulatory environment, access to funding and human resources, as well as some strengths in the support infrastructure and culture, in addition the need to support infrastructure and culture, as well as the need for greater focus on key actors in order to dynamize the ecosystem. It is concluded that the ecosystem is characterized by being composed of necessity-based ventures and a small number of high-impact ventures, its state is regular, as there are few actors within the key dimensions that carry out initiatives without generating a greater impact given the lack of articulation with the rest of the actors in the system. Based on the identification of strengths and weaknesses diagnosis, a series of strategies were proposed within each dimension that could improve the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Loja, such as: the initiative of the Global Entrepreneurship Exchange, propose a route of entrepreneurial accompaniment with the support of the actors of the provincial entrepreneurship roundtable, etc., increasing awareness campaigns on local consumption |
