Sumari:It is almost inevitable for athletes to suffer some kind of injury during their training, either due to poor posture, poor technique or simply some kind of blow during the execution of the exercises, as well as a bad diagnosis and thus a bad treatment. Sports injuries are injuries that occur during and as a consequence of the practice of a sport or during physical exercise, which manifest themselves with the presence of pain and limitation in the mobility and functionality of the affected region, which leads to an inability to perform physical training. The objective of this research work is to determine the incidence of sports injuries in athletes who train in physical conditioning centers in the city of Loja. It corresponds to a descriptive, crosssectional study and the technique used for data collection was the structured survey. The area of study was the physical conditioning centers of the city of Loja. It was determined that 53.12% of the athletes who have suffered physical injuries are female, with an average age of 23, the most frequent sports injuries in athletes predominate at the level of the lower limbs being the most common injuries affecting patellar ligaments 15. 63%, muscle contractions and patellar tendinitis, most of these injuries are associated with the practice of weight lifting exercises with 43.75% and most athletes treat these injuries pharmacologically, with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) being the most common
