Тойм:In the present investigation, three anesthetic protocols were compared in relation to postoperative recovery time, and the anesthetic planes of each protocol were identified. In the study, 18 clinically healthy canines (females) of different age, race and weight underwent ovariohysterectomy, in which the clinical record sheet was used. Three groups of 6 animals each were formed, in which there were two experimental anesthetic protocols and a control treatment, the age of the patients was between 2 and 5 years of different weights. The three experimental groups presented surgical anesthesia; It is appreciated that the mean recovery time of protocol I is similar to protocol II, but protocol III is different from protocols I and II. Consequently, protocols I and II have the shortest recovery time, and protocol III has the longest. The anesthetic planes of each protocol were identified, all patients entered stage III of surgical anesthesia, a similar percentage is seen in protocol I and II of canines that are established in an anesthetic plane 2 (two), but the protocol III is different from protocols I and II, showing a higher percentage in canines that are established in an anesthetic plane 3 (three). Anesthetic protocols that incorporate multiple drugs of different classes to induce unconsciousness, analgesia and muscle relaxation, achieving balanced anesthesia are safe and effective in surgical interventions, as long as the four phases of anesthesia are fulfilled, which are: Pre- anesthesia, induction, maintenance and recovery.
