Summary: | In José Ángel Palacio High School, it was observed that four-year-old children face difficulties in developing logical-mathematical skills. Therefore, the general objective was set to analyze the pedagogical model and its influence on logical-mathematical notions in four-year-olds at “José Ángel Palacio” High School. The methodology employed was based on a descriptive and cross-sectional quali-quantitative approach. Methods used included the scientific, inductive, deductive, and analytical-synthetic methods. The selected population comprised the teacher and the four-year-old students from Initial Level II. Techniques used were interviews and surveys, with instruments such as the interview guide and questionnaire applied to the teacher. The results obtained allowed for an understanding that the teacher's pedagogical practice exhibits characteristics of a traditional pedagogical model. Additionally, the children displayed a low to medium level in number-quantity notions, classification, ordering, and seriating. It was concluded that the use of a constructivist pedagogical model would significantly improve the development of logical-mathematical notions, as this model encourages the teacher to seek learning strategies that promote the effective use of resources and manipulable materials, as well as foster active, dynamic, and motivating participation from the children.
