| סיכום: | The quality of sleep depends on the physiology of the individual and the environment in which they are developed, one of the causes of this is the inadequate organization of activities by students at the university level and a limited support of the staff of the units that must ensure the well-being of the students. Poor sleep quality can affect the behavior of the individual, this is recognized by the World Health Organization as 40% of the population has some alteration in the sleep cycle and do not have sufficient attention from public health. This study developed is descriptive of quantitative approach of cross-sectional in which 252 students of the medical career of the Faculty of Human Health of the National University of Loja participated, of which 83.30% (n-201) were classified as bad sleepers and 16.70% (n.42) were classified as good sleepers. 94.05% (no. 237) approved the academic period and 5.95% (n-15) students failed. In addition, it was found that the minimum average obtained was 5.74 points and a maximum average of 9.82 giving an average of 8,2239 points.
