Итог:This so-called research work meaningful learning and its impact on the process of teaching and learning of mathematics, because this is one of the subjects of greatest problem in assimilating in the boys and girls of the school Eliseo Álvarez de Loja's city, for which they worked with the general objective which designates: contribute to the improvement of the quality of the significant learning in the area of mathematics in children 5th grade-school of basic education "Eliseo Álvarez" in the city of Loja; through the following specific objectives: establish the importance of meaningful learning in the process teaching - learning of mathematics. Meet the methodological strategies that use teachers to develop meaningful learning in the process of mathematics teaching and learning. The research was conducted at the school of basic education "Eliseo Álvarez" and sample was conformed follows teaching (17), students (35) giving a total of 52 people. The techniques used to collect empirical information were: bibliographical research, field, within this research: survey and observation. The application of tools (surveys helped establish conclusions and recommendations. Major: teachers have not received enough training courses to promote meaningful learning in the area of mathematics and according to the majority criterion of students who demonstrate that they do not like the way to teach this subject; and that the Ministry of education and the Provincial direction of Loja education promote the development of workshops and courses on training in the new educational paradigms that foster the development of meaningful learning, enabling you to improve professional practice ensuring a quality education.
