Resumo:The economic literature is focused on the study of the effect of population centralization in cities, which are increasingly vulnerable to cities; the specialization of the economic sectors, which have generated that the countries experience a reprimarization of their economies; and how these directly affect the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The general objective of the research is to determine the incidence of urbanization and the specialization of the economic sectors in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of the countries of the Andean Community, period 1980 - 2015, through a regression analysis of time series. The population is composed of 5 countries that make up the Andean Community of Nations. The information comes from the World Development Indicators (WDI) for the period 1980 - 2015, which provides sufficient information for the development and fulfillment of the research. The main results revealed that: in the long term, urbanization negatively affects GDP per capita, and the specialization of economic sectors positively affects the GDP per capita of the CAN countries. In addition, short-term equilibrium was found, GDP per capita is sensitive to the changes that exist in urbanization and in the specialization.
