Summary:The present work of curricular integration had the objective of analyzing the influence of parenting styles on the autonomy of high school children in the private educational unit Brother Miguel "La Salle" of the city of Cuenca; it was a qualitative study, of a descriptive type, non-experimental design, and transversal cut because, on the one hand, there was no manipulation of variables and, on the other hand, the gathering of information was carried out in a determined period of time. An interview was applied to the high school teacher tutor taken as a sample and an observation form was applied to 19 students in the first year of basic education parallel "C" with the purpose of determining their parenting style and autonomy; having the following results, it is evident that the way the children are raised at home will have direct repercussions in their behavior in the classroom, in their relationship with the teachers and with their classmates; In addition, autonomy is not affected by inadequate parenting styles since most children show the skills to interact with their environment, the problem lies when they do it in a negative way, causing disrespect and discomfort to their peers, which causes emotional discomfort that harms their social and academic development, hindering in most cases the work of the teacher; despite this, they feel important and self-confident as it is very important for their environment. After these results, it was possible to determine that the high school children of the receiving institution present an adequate autonomy for their age, performing daily activities normally throughout the day.
