Complicaciones maternas en el embarazo de adolescentes atendidas en el Hospital Básico San Vicente de Paul de Pasaje - El Oro.

Adolescent pregnancy is considered as an increasing problem, related to multiple factors that affect the social relation, biological and mental maturity in young women, it is for this reason that for the accomplishment of this research work the following Objectives: to establish the most frequent sociodemographic characteristics associated with adolescent pregnancy, to identify the most frequent maternal complications and to relate maternal complications according to the age group; for which a descriptive study was carried out, with a universe of 238 pregnant adolescents attended at the Basic Hospital San Vicente de Paúl, between January and June 2016, with a sample of 42 women who met the criteria of inclusion; the data obtained were recorded in a data collection sheet made by the author, obtaining the following results: 78.57% (n = 33) of adolescents are aged 17 - 19 years, 52.38% (n = 22) came from rural areas, with a similar percentage of total free and secondary education, 54.76% (n = 23), 73.81% (n = 31) were students. Among the most common complications are rupture of membranes 33,33% (n = 14), with predominance near term, urinary tract infections (cystitis) 30.95% (n = 13) especially cystitis and the threat of preterm birth 11.90% (n = 5). Complications related to the age group show 33.33% (n = 14) presented premature rupture of membranes with 28.57% (n = 12) between the ages of 17-19 years. With this we can conclude that teenage pregnancy is a problem and an important factor that should be taken into account to reduce maternal fetal complications. .
