Shrnutí:The present work of Curricular Integration called: Playfulness in verbal and nonverbal communication in Language and Literature, had as general purpose: To determine how playfulness affects the development of verbal and nonverbal communication in Language and Literature of the fifth grade "B", school "Miguel Riofrio", and as specific objectives; to support theoretically through the use of updated bibliography the concepts of playfulness and verbal and nonverbal communication; Likewise, to identify the types of games that contribute to the development of verbal and nonverbal communication in the subject of Language and Literature; and finally, to propose a proposal with activities based on playfulness to favor the development of verbal and nonverbal communication in the fifth "B" class of the "Miguel Riofrío" School of Basic Education. The research was descriptive, with a mixed approach and non-experimental design. Different methods were used, such as: statistical, scientific, hermeneutic and observation methods. Likewise, the instruments and techniques applied were: the observation guide, the questionnaire, direct observation, the interview and the survey, with the purpose of gathering reliable information, having as population the school "Miguel Riofrío" and as sample the students and teacher of the fifth grade "B", for which the non-probabilistic sampling was used. The analysis of the results showed that the teacher makes use of the types of ludic games (symbolic, linguistic and mime) for the development of verbal and nonverbal communication in the subject of Language and Literature. A didactic guide with ludic activities was elaborated in order to benefit the Teaching and Learning Process.
