Sumario:The present research addressed the application of gamification as a pedagogical strategy in the context of online higher education, specifically in students of the sixth cycle of the Preschool Education career of the Universidad Nacional de Loja. The study is justified by the need to conduct research that deepen the use of more efficient methodologies that enhance the motivational, participatory and comprehensive dubbing of contents within the virtual environment where every activity is executed. The main objective is to study the impact of gamification on the teaching-learning process of the preschool education, to describe the digital tools used and propose the advantages that their use facilitates. The research method was quantitative in nature with a descriptive and transversal approach, where the population was made up of 66 students plus 8 teachers, and the sample was 33 students and 4 teachers of the 6th cycle, parallel B. A structured survey with closed questions was applied as a method. A relevant finding was that 75.8 percent of the students answered that gamification made the classes more attractive and motivating, while 87.9 percent said that it was easier for them to master the contents. The immediate feedback, healthy competition and the increase in active participation was possible thanks to the digital tools Kahoot, Quizizz and Classcraft. Gamification impacts everything related to distance education in a positive way because it improves the performance of the virtual classroom, increases students' interest, and allows that important skills to be developed and is considered to be an effective strategy in educational contexts that are online.
