Sumari:The acute diarrheal disease is the increase of the frequency and changes in the stools consistencies in 24 hours. Acute diarrheal disease has become a major public health problem in the world, these diseases affect all age groups, however the most vulnerable are children under the age of 5 years, therefore, a study was conducted: " CLINIC AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL BEHAVIOUR OF THE ACUTE DIARRHEAL DISEASE IN CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS IN THE PEDIATRIC SERVICE AT PASAJE HOSPITAL" the objectives of this research work were to determine the prevalence of acute diarrheal disease by age and sex, to identify the most frequent complications and to determine the clinical behavior by month during a year. The study was descriptive-retrospective type, all under the age of 5 years were selected from a population of 724 patients, and a sample of 193 patients with acute diarrheal disease was taken, with the following results obtained: the group with most frequency are children of 1 year, with 88 cases representing 46%, the gender with most frequency is the male with a 58% of 111 cases, November was the most frequent month of Acute diarrheal disease with a 12% of 22 cases, the number of stools in 24 hours were from 3 to 5 with a percentage of 52% of 100 cases, the liquid stools were the most frequent with 86% of 166 cases, the characteristics of the stools were with mucus in 73% of 141 cases, the most frequent symptom was vomiting with a 36% of 145 cases, the dehydration is the most common complication with 68% of 131cases.
