Добавить метку | Итог: | This study aims to determine the evolution of patients with osteoporosis treated with oral and intravenous bisphosphonates that come to the hospital General Isidro Ayora of Loja city. The study is descriptive observational, prospective worked with a universe comprised 322 patients They are attending outpatient traumatology service during April 2015, the sample was 52 patients. The 87.17% are female and only 13% were male. The survey was used to identify patients with osteoporosis who are treated with oral and intravenous bisphosphonates and their clinical course and bone densitometry was used to determine response to treatment. The results show that 41.9% of female patients between 65-69 years of age had the highest percentage of osteoporosis. In males the highest percentages are found between 75 to 79 years old. The area most affected in both sexes by densitometry lumbar spine was 67%, followed by 50% femoral neck osteopenia and osteoporosis, forearm31%. After 10 months of continuous treatment satisfactory results for both sexes was found. Keywords: densitometry, osteoporosis, osteopenia |
