| Итог: | Hematic biometry (BH) is one of the main laboratory tests of great value for medical personnel, since it allows them to guide the clinical status and diagnosis of a patient. This thesis work shows a descriptive-comparative, cross-sectional study, whose objective was to examine and interpret leukocyte dispersograms emitted by BH and relate them to the findings of blood smears (SF), in hospitalized patients in the clinical and pediatric areas. For this purpose, blood samples with EDTA were received from the services of interest, they were processed in the Sysmex XN-1000S automated analyzer and a total of 80 samples with leukocyte alterations were randomly selected, and compared with the microscopy of the SF. The results showed substantial agreement between scattergrams and FS in leukocytosis, neutrophilia, eosinophilia, leukopenia, and lymphopenia (Kappa 0.72); unlike morphological alterations such as nuclei segmentation, immature leukocytes, atypical lymphocytes, toxic granulation, increased arches, and reactive cells, whose concordance was moderate (Kappa 0.57). Scattergrams in BH can be used as screening tools in several leukocyte disorders due to their good correlation with SF, however, a combination of these with clinical findings and the respective morphological manual evaluation is important to guide the necessary additional tests and properly classify patients. patients with leukocyte disorders specifically |
