Resumo:The purpose of this research work is to identify the links and actors of the Coffee Value Chain under the Traditional and Associative modality, characterize each one of the actors in the value chain, map the chains and make a comparison between them. The methods used were deductive, inductive, analytical and descriptive. These have a qualitative and quantitative approach, which allowed knowing, describing, comparing, analyzing and interpreting the characteristics of the coffee value chain; The techniques were: bibliographic review, observation, interview with technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Mayor of the canton of Chaguarpamba, and surveys of the members of each link in the value chain. For the sampling, the samples were used for convenience and snowball, since they allowed selecting the population based on my criteria, as well as obtaining information from the other people who provide and help expand the information. The coffee value chain under the traditional modality consists of 93% of coffee growers of which 95% are qualified producers and 5% are unskilled, which sell their coffee nationally and internationally, while 7% of the coffee growers work under the Associative modality, it has qualified coffee growers, but they sell their coffee locally, since the association is currently not working since the association has a bad image due to its mismanagement. The main problems affecting the coffee farmer are the lack of water for irrigation, support from the authorities, investment, access to loans with accessible terms, a low interest rate, insurance against catastrophes, unstable prices, constant training on topics. related to the production and marketing of coffee. It is recommended to systematize and socialize the experiences of coffee producers who have managed to implement a company, make a request to the National University of Loja so that, through programs, trainings and outreach projects, they contribute to the productive development of coffee growers and of the canton. Promote associativity in coffee growers and their integration in the value chain model, emphasizing the aggregation of value in each link and process.
