Sumari:Job stress in health professionals and their involvement in poor-quality care have been documented and have been demonstrated in previous studies. However, specific groups that require attention have been excluded from the investigations. This study aimed to establish the level of work stress and identify the main factors related to work stress, to the rotating medical interns of the National University of Loja who worked at the Isidro Ayora General Hospital and Manuel Ygnacio Montero General Hospital during the period from October to November 2022. The research had a quantitative approach, descriptive design, cross section and prospective vision. The universe and sample probabilistic consisted of 80 rotating medical interns who met the inclusion criteria, to whom the "Medic-stress" test was applied to detect work stress and whose results were that 82% of the stress was severe, 16.3% was moderate, and only 1.3% was mild. In addition, among the main factors related to work stress, those that contributed the most were psychological, followed by organizational, physical, interpersonal, and individual factors. With these data, we conclude that most of the participants have high levels of work stress and that the main contributing factor to the level of work stress is psychological
