The present investigation is of a mixed type with a descriptive scope and a quasi-experimental design; the methods used were: inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic, likewise it has a population of twenty-one children from 5 to 6 years old. For the start and end diagnosis, the Cruz and Mazaira Preschool Psychomotricity Evaluation Scale instrument was applied, where the results indicate that at the beginning 34% of the children are located at a low level and only 16% at a low level. good level, for this reason an activity guide entitled "Dancing, I move my body" was developed, which is working on aspects such as coordination, displacement, turns, rhythm, body expression, once applied, a significant improvement is evident since 33% are within the good level and 21% in the low level, demonstrating that the application of dance as a methodological strategy is of great importance for the development of gross motor skills, since it favors the performance of body muscle movements coordinated and maintain balance. In this way it is concluded that dance is a form of expression, emotions, thoughts and moods as a means to entertain, enjoy and enjoy through rhythms of the body in the characteristic ones the child will gradually get to know the space in such a way that It invigorates gross motor skills since it achieves creativity through improvisation.
