الملخص:Alcoholism is currently considered a social disease that is unfortunately on the increase causing consumers physical, mental, personal, family, work, economic and social problems (WHO, 2015). It is considered the main cause for the escalation in violence within the home. Around 50% of cases of domestic violence are linked to the consumption of alcohol with women, children, adolescents and older adults being the most vulnerable (Wiborg, 2016). This study is of a transversal descriptive nature based on a population sample of 300 people belonging to the Asociación Agrícola San Felipe (San Felipe Farming Association) from the Malacatos-Loja-Ecuador parish, who were surveyed using a questionnaire validated by WHO (2016). With respect to the results it was seen that both men and women are consumers of alcohol, the majority being men at 69%. In addition 10.29% were young people who had adopted this behaviour at an early age. The most frequent type of drinker has a risk factor of 33.82% and the detrimental drinker exhibits 30.88%. In addition it was acknowledged that psychological violence with respect to couples and children at home is the direct result of alcohol consumption. In conclusion it can be said that all alcoholic consumers exercise intra-family violence. Keywords: Alcohol Consumption, intra-family violence
