Čoahkkáigeassu:Oral language is a communication system that allows people to socialize, express ideas, thoughts and feelings, this ability within the child's development is fundamental since as time goes by he/she acquires new linguistic schemes, that is why this research was aimed at determining how children's literature strengthens oral language in children of the initial level I of the Escuela de Educación Básica 18 de Noviembre, which was carried out under a mixed approach, with a quasi-experimental design and descriptive scope; The inductive, deductive and synthetic analytical methods were used to achieve the objectives. The instrument used was the Oral Language Test Navarre-Revised (PLON-R), which allowed the study of a sample of twenty-three children obtained through non-probabilistic sampling, since the group met the necessary characteristics for the research. At the beginning of the work, the oral language development was diagnosed, obtaining that 87% of the children were in a level of "needs improvement" and 4% in "normal", presenting difficulties in the articulation of phonemes, repetition of phrases, comprehension and expression. Then, after the application of a proposal through a guide of 40 activities entitled "The world of words" based on children's literature, it was possible to improve to 65% the "normal" level and reduce to 31% in "need improvement", acquiring in the infants a new vocabulary, a good articulation of phonemes and developing skills of spontaneous compression and expression. Concluding that the activities based on children's literature with lyric, dramatic and narrative genres, were efficient since they strengthened the components of oral language such as phonology, morphology/syntax, lexicon, semantics and pragmatics so that the child has a development in terms of communication and expression, fundamental for their daily development.
