Yhteenveto:Attention is the ability to focus on processing information that includes both internal and external stimuli. It is essential for the learning process, as a higher level of concentration leads to better performance and execution of activities in the classroom and everyday life. This research is aimed to analyze how cognitive games enhance attention in preparatory school children at the Miguel Riofrío basic education school in the city of Loja school year 2023–2024. The methodology used for the research was an experimental design, descriptive and mixed approach that allowed for the description and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, In order to obtain the results, the test for the detention and evaluation of attention difficulties developed by the Ministry of Education of the Plurinational State of Bolivia (2012) and adapted by Armijos was used as an instrument, obtaining as a result that 78% of the children have a severe and moderate attention problem while 22% have a mild problem, for this reason it was considered necessary to design an alternative proposal called ‘Masterminds’ based on cognitive games as a strategy to improve attention difficulties. To conclude, cognitive games used as a pedagogical strategy help the brain to be more active when facing new challenges, solving problems, improving attention and concentration skills, increasing the speed of processing, improving information filtration and academic performance, guaranteeing an adequate integral development. Keywords: Concentration, attention, speed of thought, skills, cognitive games, integral development.
