| Shrnutí: | A proposal for psycho-mental health education for type II diabetic patients with cognitive dissonance in the group of diabetics in the general hospital Isidro Ayora is a social scientific research with a quanti-qualitative and cross-sectional approach designed to determine the relationship between mental health and cognitive dissonance; and at the same time measure personality traits, types of eating habits, kinds of cognitive dissonance; and clarify the conflicts and psychological problems that affect the mental health of the population studied through the application of tests and a questionnaire. As an alternative solution, a proposal for psycho-mental health education for type II diabetic patients with cognitive dissonance is designed. A sample of 56 people with type II diabetes was examined and it was found that a high percentage of patients showed features of neurosis mixed personality type prone to feed on carbohydrates; and a smaller percentage of patients with psychopathic personality traits and alcohol that do not adhere to the doctor, nutritionist and psychological treatment suggested. Thereby it is being demonstrated that 36% have a range of mixed personality neurosis took 25% of panic disorder, 25% of depressive reactions 10% of hypochondria; and 4% with hysterical reactions, and none has psychopathic personality profiles and alcoholism. 41% consume carbohydrates such as bread, sugar, flour, 30% of them consume proteins such as meat, eggs, milk, vegetables, soft drinks ingested 16% 9% report consuming other foods which do not are specified, 4% said they consume lipids such as fats, junk food, and 0% consume any liquor. 41% of diabetics have Permanent Dissonance, 27% presents no dissonance, 21% have mild dissonance, 7% reflected a moderate dissonance and 4% remains a consonant attitude. 23% have similarly anxiety and frustration, 20% said to feel vulnerable, 16% feel depression, feelings of worthlessness 11%, 7% said stress present, and 0% other feeling that is not specified This led to the recommendation that are urgently treated in mental health, attended by specialists in this branch, to be put into implementing the program in mental health education in the treatment of cognitive dissonance, to prevent disturbances It integrates health.
