Zusammenfassung:The constant development of telecommunication systems worldwide, specifically designed to transmit wirelessly using radio medium is the cause for today will begin to experience a decrease in available frequencies. In fact, overuse and inefficient use of spectrum have been investigating possible technological solution that help optimize their use. In this context, networks have proposed dynamic access to radio spectrum, intelligent networks known as Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN’s), which were made as a solution to the inefficient use of spectrum and allow a dynamic use of spectrum reusing obsolete frequencies with the condition not interfere with primary users. Under this vision, this project aims to carry out the identification White Spaces in the VHF/UHF bands, specifically within the range of frequencies ranging between 54 MHz – 686 MHz, for possible use in system cognitive radio. For this he visited each of the six urban parishes of the city of Loja, where the spectrum monitoring was performed in order to meet the spectral occupation. The spectral occupation in each of the parishes is determined by the energy detection method, for this is mainly used an equipment based on a Spectrum Analyzer required to perform the measurements. In the results is shows that about 70% of the total band width be evaluated underutilized, allowing to implement the possibility of Cognitive Radio Networks.
