Summary:This study aims to determine the factors that trigger anxiety disorders and depression in patients undergoing hemodialysis dialysis center Cornelio-Samaniego-Loja, in the period April-September-2016; It thereby performing assessment of the degree of anxiety by the Hamilton scale so does the state of depression was assessed by scale Yesavage in each pre-dialysis patient, eventually factors present was associated in patients with levels of anxiety and depression. The study was descriptive, qualitative and quantitative, with a sample of 57 patients diagnosed with chronic renal failure and hemodialysis treatment, knowing this way the level of anxiety disorders and depression by applying the test before mentioned. The main results were: 76% have a higher anxiety, associated factors, of which the most frequently encountered are the following: general somatic symptoms, genitourinary symptoms such as frequent-urgent urination, concerns, difficulty sleeping, crying easily and difficulty concentrating; while 5% of the study have no anxiety. We also have 53% normal level of depression and 23% with severe depression that due to the acceptance of the disease and its respective treatment.
